80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War
On May 9, 2025, the Republic of Belarus will mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The residents of Belarus, together with all the peoples of the Soviet Union, contributed to the common cause of Victory over fascism. Our land was the first to take the blow of Nazi Germany and managed to give a worthy rebuff to the invaders, showing the whole world an example of courage, fearlessness and heroism.
On June 22, Nazi Germany suddenly attacked the Soviet Union. This was followed by 1,418 days and nights of the most difficult struggle, which our great-grandfathers, grandfathers, fathers, mothers and children of the war waged selflessly and completed with the Great Victory.
Four years... years of heroism and suffering. Millions of human lives. Four years of fear and blood, but at the same time, unprecedented unity of the entire nation, united by something greater than the order "Not a step back!"
Fighting to the last bullet, steadfastness and courage. The indomitable courage of the heroes of the Brest Fortress, the defenders of Leningrad and Stalingrad, Kiev and Minsk, Odessa and Sevastopol, Novorossiysk and Kerch, Tula, Murmansk and Smolensk.

State Symbols of the Republic of Belarus
As a sovereign state, the Republic of Belarus has its own state symbols — the State Flag, the State Coat of Arms, and the State Anthem.
Since 1917, the State Flag and State Coat of Arms of Belarus have changed several times. However, despite the differences, all versions of state symbols shared a similar foundation, which allows us to speak of their historical continuity.

The State Flag is permanently raised on the buildings of government bodies and certain state institutions, is placed in the offices of the heads of these bodies, in schools, at polling stations, and is displayed during various ceremonial events.

The image of the State Coat of Arms is placed on the buildings of government bodies and a number of state institutions, inside the offices of their heads, as well as on the seals of these bodies, on coins, and on the passports of citizens of the Republic of Belarus.

The State Anthem is performed at the beginning and in some cases at the end of important state and public events, including during the inauguration of the President of the Republic of Belarus — after he takes the Oath.

In pursuance of Decree No. 254 of the President of the Republic of Belarus of June 16, 2003, in order to implement the constitutional right of employees to receive complete and reliable information about the activities of government bodies, about political, economic, cultural and international life, about the results of the activities of local authorities, the third Thursday of each month is held as a unified information day. Employees of government bodies, heads of enterprises, healthcare and educational institutions, scientists, cultural and artistic figures, and lecturers of the republican state-public association "Belarusian Society 'Znanie'" are involved in its conduct.
One of the most active forms of ideological work is the meetings of information and propaganda groups and speakers with work collectives within the framework of the unified information day.
The unified information day is a set of activities held monthly (every third Thursday of the month), conducted by members of information and propaganda groups and invited speakers.
The role of unified information days, where members of information and propaganda groups speak, is very important. They are an effective link of "feedback" with people, explain their rights and obligations, state policy and decisions of local authorities; during unified information days, an exchange of views takes place on the most pressing public issues, and the problems of the city, republic, and work collective do not go unnoticed. The proposals, comments and requests received are summarized, measures are taken on them, and their implementation is monitored.
Unified information days, more than any other form of work, allow for the development of fruitful interaction between the authorities and citizens of the country. In each specific case, another effect is achieved: discontent among residents is forestalled. Many issues raised during the unified information day are resolved more quickly, and people are convinced of the leaders' attentive attitude to their problems. It is very important when each member of the work collective really sees that the local authorities are ready to solve his problems. Practice shows that any issue is always easier to resolve locally, through working channels, than by bureaucratic methods.

- Wide informing of the country's citizens about the activities of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus and other government bodies.

- Determining priority directions in information and propaganda work among work collectives and students.
- Providing methodological and organizational assistance to group members, ensuring control over their activities.
- Studying and summarizing the experience of ideological and information work of information and propaganda groups, preparing recommendations for improving their activities.
- Considering appeals from citizens received during unified information days; responding to the analysis of statements and complaints during speeches by members of information and propaganda groups.

About the Public Association "Belarusian Union of Women"
The public association "Belarusian Union of Women" (BUW) was established on December 14, 1991. It unites women's organizations based on territorial and professional characteristics.
The activities of the BUW are aimed at promoting the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of women, families and children, ensuring a worthy position for women in society, and increasing their role in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the country.
The BUW is the largest women's organization in the country, uniting more than 162,000 women. It is represented in all regional, city and district centers.

- participation in events to promote and celebrate "Mother's Day and Week", "International Family Day", "Children's Protection Day";
- participation in socially significant campaigns and movements "Belarus — a Cozy Home", "Spring of Good and Memory", "Not a Single Abandoned Child in Belarus", "Our Children" and others, paying special attention to issues of protecting motherhood and childhood, increasing parental responsibility for the life and health of children, reducing social orphanhood, helping veterans and the elderly, participation in events of a spiritual and moral orientation;
- participation in the campaign "Women's Health — the Health of the Nation", placing special emphasis on issues of public awareness of the value of life, proper attitude to one's own and others' health, and the environment; within the framework of the campaigns, actively promoting the rejection of smoking, drug use, excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, especially among children and adolescents, preventing all forms of violence in the family;
- promoting the development of a volunteer movement to assist families raising children with disabilities, the elderly and low-income citizens;
- promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
- organization of women's leisure.

About the Public Association "Belaya Rus"
On the initiative of the public in 2004, a mass patriotic movement "Belaya Rus" emerged in Grodno. In June 2007, all regions and the city of Minsk joined the ideological project. Preparation began for the creation of the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus".
The founding congress of the association took place on November 17, 2007. The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus registered the RPA "Belaya Rus" on December 11, 2007, and the official heraldic symbol of the association was registered on August 15, 2008. In October 2008, the official website began operating. In 2018, the association's highest award was established — the "Sign of Honor" breast badge.
The main documents regulating the activities of the RPA "Belaya Rus" are the charter and program. The highest body of the association is the congress, the permanent governing body is the Republican Council. Organizational structures have been created in all administrative-territorial units of the country.
"Belaya Rus" is initially aimed at supporting the political course of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. The ideological platform of the RPA is based on the ideology of the Belarusian state and the existing model of social development.
The association considers its main goal to be the construction of an independent, strong and prosperous Belarus through the consolidation of society and all constructive forces based on the priority of national interests, patriotic and spiritual-moral values of the Belarusian people, cultural traditions, a common understanding of its historical destiny and the desire to preserve the sovereignty and independence of the state.
"Belaya Rus", being a public association, does not focus on the struggle for power, which makes it possible to perceive all processes through the eyes of an ordinary person and analyze them from a state perspective. "Belaya Rus" has been involved in the political life of the country since its inception. The association participates in all election campaigns for local Councils of Deputies, deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, and the President of the Republic of Belarus. The public reception offices of "Belaya Rus" become election headquarters for candidates supported by the association during such periods.
In international cooperation, "Belaya Rus" supports the geopolitical strategy implemented by the political leadership of the Republic of Belarus and is focused on intensifying interaction with countries that take a constructive position regarding Belarus's domestic and foreign policy. The diplomatic policy of our association is built on the principles of strengthening international stability, mutual understanding between peoples, maintaining friendly and partnership cooperation between countries.
"Belaya Rus" is steadily working to expand international cooperation with civil society of foreign countries that take a constructive position regarding the Republic of Belarus. The highest priority area in international activities is cooperation within the Union State.

About the Public Association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union"
The President of the Republic of Belarus, A.G. Lukashenko, stood at the origins of the creation of the Public Association "BRYU". Speaking to the delegates of the 38th unifying congress of the BSM and BPSM, the Head of State emphasized that a powerful unified youth organization should become one of the pillars of our society.
The goal of the BRYU is to create conditions for the comprehensive development of youth, the realization of their creative potential, and to promote the development of a civil society in the Republic of Belarus based on patriotic and spiritual-moral values.
Any citizen of the Republic of Belarus, a stateless person, as well as foreign citizens permanently residing in the Republic of Belarus, aged 14 to 31 years, who recognize the Charter and program documents of the BRYU, can become a member of the Youth Union.
A youth card is a guarantee of finding strong friendship in the Union with friends, and achieving the goals set by the young person.
Today, the largest youth organization of the Republic of Belarus unites the most active representatives of the new generation, those who strive to apply their strengths and abilities to make their own lives and the lives of their peers more interesting, brighter, more meaningful, and most importantly — to build a young Belarus with their own hands.
The main areas of activity of the BRYU are civic-patriotic education, organizing secondary employment — youth employment, increasing the motivation of young men and women to lead a healthy lifestyle, volunteering, supporting gifted and talented youth, international cooperation, as well as legal education.
With the development of new technologies, the public association is actively expanding its presence on the Internet.
A striking example of a youth initiative was the republican patriotic project "Flowers of the Great Victory", designed to preserve for posterity the memory of every participant in the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Great Victory.
The interest of young men and women in preserving the traditions of the Belarusian people and the attributes of state symbols is reflected in the project "Native — National!".
With state support, the BRYU managed to revive the famous Komsomol brand — the student team movement. Its popularity is confirmed by tens of thousands of young men and women employed annually.
The BRYU actively participates in promoting the institution of volunteering in Belarus. Every year, the "Good Heart" movement helps find volunteer activities to suit every willing volunteer.
The motto "Courage. Responsibility. Fatherland. Patriotism" unites thousands of young people across the country who, at the call of their hearts, actively participate in the movement of Youth Law Enforcement Detachments.
Youth participation in creative projects of the BRYU is a platform for developing their hobbies, expanding the boundaries and frameworks of thinking, fantasy, and imagination. It is precisely such opportunities that the youth association provides, which is the initiator and organizer of numerous campaigns, competitions, festivals, forums and youth holidays.
The organization's style has been to unite individual youth initiatives into large-scale long-term projects of national and international scale such as: "Youth Day at the International Arts Festival Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk", "Queen of Students", "Student of the Year", "Master of the Village", "Park of Family Trees" and many others.
The republican youth project "100 Ideas for Belarus" is another opportunity for young people. Not only to implement various ideas, engage in research activities, scientific developments, but also to find investors and organizations interested in these ideas. The natural inclinations of a researcher that appear in young people during participation in the project help them grow into professional scientists.
